Feb 28th 2018 – Black Lives Matter Vancouver Event “A Night of Black Magic” Celebrating Black artists in Vancouver.
Rika was a special guest performer for this amazing event celebrating black performing artists in Vancouver and the final day of Black History Month. Such huge musical and artistic talent in this city and a beautiful community to be in! Rika performed her original song “Unstoppable” from her recent album release. Performers included CBC Searchlight winner Desiree Dawson, and a big thank you to Cicely-Belle Blain for organizing the event and heading up the BLM Vancouver chapter. #blacklivesmatter #blackhistorymonth
Feb 13th 2018 – HeartBeat Vancouver
Rika was a featured artist and part of the team for an incredible event celebrating community, excellence and diversity in music at HeartBeat Vancouver held at St. Andrews Wesley Church in Vancouver, BC. Sponsored by so many amazing organizations including Let’s Hear It BC The Juno Host Committee 2018, Creative BC, and Music BC. It was a true celebration of artists from all over British Columbia coming together to celebrate unity amongst all people. Huge thanks and gratitude to Gavia Lertzman-Lepofsky & Jessica Heaven for putting together this project!
Jan 26th 2018: Canadian Covenant Awards Performance
Rika had the privilege of performing the song she guest appears on with Luke Vandevert of The Arctic Music at this years Canadian Covenant Awards at the Breakforth One event in Edmonton AB. Rika also taught a few workshops on songwriting and the business of music, as well as performed for the Gather Women event.

Throughout Rika’s pop career, intertwined amongst that music were some special opportunities to record some songs close to her heart that shared a message of hope, faith and love surrounding her own journey of Grace. The Gospel Album is Rika’s brand new release featuring some of her radio anthems as well as a real, raw and live version of Be What They Need – a song sung with her mother in law who always had a dream to record. This album is special in so many ways, but mostly because it is a long awaited release of the CCM track ” Heal Our Land ” that has been playing across the country for the last year where fans can finally purchase the anthemic song for Canada. November 7th 2017 : Rika nominated for 2 Canadian Gospel Music Awards!
Just announced: Rika nominated for Female Vocalist of year, and her newest radio gospel radio single ” Heal Our Land ” written with Jeff Bjorgan and Colin Janz ( also produced by Colin ) was nominated for Inspirational Song of the Year! An incredible honor to be nominated amongst friends and a great Canadian gospel community.
April 28th 2017 : Introducing: Rika Siewert – Getting ready to go global!
Its a brand new season and with that comes a very timely change of a new name and branding to be able to go global. With the presence of new media, and world wide access to music and media online, Marika was finding confusion in her name and music being mistaken for other ” Marika’s ” around the world. With this new branding, she launches a new season of the music, the message, and the ability to be a one of a kind as she approaches a global market with her music and radio career, acting, and consulting. So the journey continues with the same professionalism, excellence and integrity in her craft, but the start of a new beginning and much more to come.

January 2017: MARIKA’s #1 single, TV shows, & client news!
2016 ended on a high as MARIKA’s newest song HEAL OUR LAND reached the #1 spot on the JOY Top 20 radio countdown in Toronto. The single stayed at #1 through to the first countdown of January 2017, which marked a great celebration in to Canada’s 150th birthday. Marika had 3 radio singles playing across Canada in December with the new promotional campaign of “This Christmas Time” hitting new Hot AC stations as well as a number of live shows during the Christmas season. Currently her songs are playing across Pop, Hot AC and Christian stations across the country, which she says is a true privilege to be able to make music that can be heard by all audiences. Other recent projects include: an actor role in the Netflix series ” Haters Back Off “; a co-starring role as a dueling piano player on the CW/Netflix show ” No Tomorrow “; joining the professional actors union (UBCP/ACTRA) and participating in a campaign for more Diversity Inclusion for actors in both Vancouver and LA; guest speaking alongside casting director Bim Narine of Falcon/Narine Casting, Vancouver agent Mary Falcon of Play Management, and Actor Dakota Daulby; guest performing with her daughter Zoey at the Salvation army’s Hope in the city event featuring sports journalist, host and mental health advocate Michael Landsberg; performing with her entire family for the BC Lions Family and Faith Night in Vancouver; the 38th annual GMA Covenant awards nomination – MARIKA is nominated with The Arctic music for their song “Diversity”; and on top of all of this – Marika is also assisting in coaching and management of her children and personal clients who are active in film/television and music. 2016 was a great year, but we anticipate an even greater 2017!
In client news: MARIKA recorded with client and friend Terrence Richmond for his upcoming CD release coming up in March 2017. Terrance is also up for an urban song of the year award at the Covenant awards alongside his song mates Warren Dean Flandez and Karolyn Haze. Soul songstress Jennifer Budd also gained a Covenant award nomination and just signed a management deal with Nashville Management! Jaedon Siewert recently filmed for a Hallmark movie “Looks like Christmas”, Zoey Siewert finished up final touches of her upcoming show launching in June 2017 “Finding Stuff Out” and as well she booked a 52 episode recurring role on the animated series “Nina’s World” for Sprout/NBC. Zac Siewert had the opportunity to intern under renowned choreographer Paul Becker as he was in town working on a tv series, and following that Zac also got to dance and audition with the amazing Amy Wright – Toronto based casting Director and choreographer of Family Channel’s “The Next Step”, guest casting director Candice Elzinga, and DaCosta Talent’s Melissa Panton. A highlight of the end of the year was working with Grammy winning composer Mateo Messina as Marika was cast alongside her family in a groundbreaking theatre/film and symphony performance written by Mateo and produced with Vossler Media to benefit Seattle Children’s Hospital. The event was a one night performance at Beneroya Hall and raised 270 000 dollars for the hospital!

Artist Jennifer Budd wins Best new artist at Hamilton Music awards; XAND3R music, and “Real Life Story” CHR & HOT AC radio release.
Gearing up for a busy fall, Marika is celebrating one of her consulting artists Jennifer Budd winning Best new artist at the recent Hamilton Music awards. Jennifer will be on tour in the fall and Marika may join her for some dates so stay tuned! More about Jennifer at www.jenniferbudd.com
Another one of Marika’s clients producer/songwriter and artist XAND3R (pronounced ZANDER) will be performing with Canadian pop sensation Victoria Duffield on her Edmonton tour date at the end of July. XAND3r also helped arrange and produce for Canadian pop opera band Vivace and has just released a beautiful new video with the band. Check out his work and the new video at www.xand3rmusic.com
Finally, with the help of a great team, Marika is gearing up for a campaign to release her single “Real Life Story” to hit CHR and Hot AC radio coming soon. As well, a new song “Heal Our Land” written with Jeff Bjorgan and Colin Janz will also be released to gospel and inspirational radio in celebration of Canada’s 150. Marika will be attending the West Coast Music awards in Regina to celebrate her recent nomination after a summer of being in Montreal where she hopes to film the Real Life Story music video while out there!

“REAL LIFE STORY” & WCMA Nomination!
Marika recently found out she is nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award for her album ” X” celebrating a decade in music. This also comes off the heels of 10 weeks charting with “Real Life Story” on the CCRC the official radio chart for Canadian Christian Radio. Marika is still currently in the number 4 spot for top Canadian Content artists, and she recently just came off back to back filming projects for a series for Netflix, and a large agency commercial campaign releasing globally during the Olympics!
